Dear ActiveSG Family,
Since 2021, over 200 ActiveSG accounts have been suspended for suspected use of bots to book our sport facilities, and more than 600 bookings have been cancelled due to on-selling.
On-selling refers to selling something you have purchased to another buyer while the use of bots refers to the use of a software program that operates on the Internet and performs repetitive tasks.
Sport Singapore takes a very serious stance towards such activities; both of which are strictly not allowed under our ActiveSG Terms of Use, as they would deprive others of sporting opportunities while unfairly incurring additional costs at others’ expense. We conduct regular checks on all bookings and irregular booking patterns would be further investigated. Social media platforms are also scanned to check for on-selling activities involving ActiveSG facilities.
For ActiveSG members who infringe our Terms of Use, your ActiveSG account can be suspended for up to 6 months for first-time violators. A second infringement will result in permanent termination of your account. This policy will be effective from 1 July 2023.
To ensure a fair and equitable booking system to allow as many users to continue to enjoy our facilities, I urge you to book only for your personal use; any on-selling of any ActiveSG facility slot is not allowed. Please also do not purchase such slots from errant sellers.
If you know of such activities, please inform us with supporting evidence for further investigation.
